New From Various Chinese Medicine Websites

Posted on April 27, 2009 by Yael4 Comments

link_2One of the best things about having a blog about Chinese Medicine is being connected to other colleagues. Other people who love Chinese Medicine just as much as I do.
I also get the chance to be updated with new ideas and new resources- it makes me feel rich, and it makes me understand just how much is being done in Chinese Medicine all around.
So this post will be dedicated to those new things I managed to pick up will surfing the Internet.

Insights For Acupuncture: Lisa Hanfileti is busy, busy, busy! After giving us live webinars and a wonderful e-Book, she brings us a new blog, packed with information about marketing your clinic.

5 Interesting Links About Chinese Medicine

Posted on December 3, 2008 by Yael2 Comments

It’s been a while since I last gave a list of interesting links here on CMNotes.
I know, there’s this category called “weekly links“, and you know as well as me, that it hasn’t been updated for a long long time. The only reason is lack of time.
But here I am now, so let’s make the most of it:

Meet my competitors is a post by Burton Kent, over at Acupuncture Clinic Marketing.
Burton lists the blogs that have good advice on how to help us promote our clinic, and to be quite honest, I think we could all use all the help we can get. 2009 seems to be a nice new year, but could be difficult where finanace is concerned, so I would imagine that those of us who have a clinic would like to get more ideas on how to keep our patients close and how to get new ones.

6 Links About Chinese Medicine To Read and Bookmark

Posted on August 5, 2008 by Yael1 Comment

It’s a bit early in the week for weekly links.
I figured that since I’ve been so behind on my posts, the least I can do is make a special list, hoping that next week will mark my return to routine.

When I finished school, I knew that I mainly want to help women who went through a sexual trauma.
I have no doubt in my mind that Chinese Medicine, especially when you understand the 5 Elements at it’s deepest levels, I know it can help those women understand the trauma better and all it’s affects on their lives.
So I was very happy to read Abdallah Stickley’s post about PTSD, Heart Disease and Acupuncture, which was posted on Abdallah’s blog Even Unto China. As PTSD has a lot to do with sexual trauma, understanding what PTSD can do to a person is highly important during treatment.

Chinese Medicine Books

Posted on July 18, 2008 by YaelNo Comments

I guess you know by now that I am a Chinese Medicine books fan.
I now have less time for it, but during my school years, I used to read a lot about Chinese Medicine.
I find these books to be very enjoyable, and also a wonderful way to learn on my own. This is not to say that books are better than practice- not at all- but this is only another way for me to say, that even if you are a practitioner for the past 20 years- don’t stop reading.
It is so important!

Chinese Medicine books are expensive.
But there are ways to find some goodies (and by goodies I mean Chinese Medicine books that their price won’t kill our bank accounts). Yes, I know, it’s rare. I still think that buying a new Chinese Medicine book every now and then is important, and it is for a good cause.
When ordering from on-line book stores, one should consider the fees of shipping, and make sure that if you order from the Internet it doesn’t amount to more than what you can find in a store near you.

Weekly Links- June 12

Posted on June 12, 2008 by Yael2 Comments

It’s time for our weekly links post, again, and I think you’ll find these links very interesting:

Face-lift via Acupuncture: I’m bringing this link mainly because I don’t like it. In fact it actually annoys me to read that people use Chinese Medicine for cosmetic reasons such as a face-lift. Where exactly is the “Chinese Medicine way of thinking” here? Chinese Medicine is much more than just points to needle and look better, you know what I mean?

The echos of the earthquake in China are still heard, in the form of stories about survivers and the way that are being treated. One example is a treatment with nutrition.
Remember I told you about the 2 Israeli students that were missing after the earthquake? They were found and everything’s well, you can read more about it by clicking here.

Continuing Education and Events in Chinese Medicine

Posted on June 5, 2008 by YaelNo Comments

I found a few interesting links about Chinese Medicine post-graduate events around the world, I thought I’d share them with you.

Posting the interview with Arya Nielsen made me contact her again. Very busy lady!
She asked if I could post this on my blog, and I gladly do so, in order to let you know about a good opportunity to study with a busy practitioner with years of experience.
Take a look, and if you’re interested, you are welcome to get in touch with Arya, don’t forget to tell her you heard about the fellowship program from CMNotes.
You can download the file with all the information by clicking here.

The Monthly Round Up- May 2008

Posted on May 30, 2008 by YaelNo Comments

May turned out to be a busy month!

We kicked things off with The Seven Emotions, a review about one of my favorite books in CM (if not my most favorite). I think every practitioner and every student of CM can benefit from this book.

Weekly Links- New on CMNotes

Posted on May 22, 2008 by YaelNo Comments

OK, today I am starting a new category- weekly links.
I will create a weekly list of interesting links I found over the week that are all about Chinese Medicine.
I get so many interesting links over the days but am failing to read them all for lack of time and way too much work. This way I am mixing my blogging with links I think are important for everyone, and though this might create another dead-line for me, I think it is a good thing.

Shaolin monks to treat victims with secret herbs- I thought there was a lot of kindness in this post from Shanghai Daily, talking about the victims of the earthquake in Sichuan. Note it.

10 Chinese Medicine Links Worth Mentioning

Posted on March 27, 2008 by Yael4 Comments

The success of the first post we made on Chinese Medicine links encouraged us to write another post on more links we find worth mentioning for various reasons.
Please note that the numbers are just to make it easier to count to 10. This isn’t a rating of any sort.

1. The Journal of Chinese Medicine- this is one of the best journals I read about CM. Peter Deadman is doing a wonderfully important job with this journal and publication. You will find that the website has a lot to do with selling different products, but there are also interesting articles you can download for free, and the website itself is beautifully designed. Note it.
