Paul McCartney (and The Monthly Round Up)
Posted on October 4, 2008 by Yael
September 2008 was all about Paul McCartney for me.
43 years ago, the Israeli government didn’t allow The Beatles to perform in Israel, claiming they will corrupt Israeli youth. You have to admit, of all the dumb things Israeli governments did over the years, this has to be one of the the top 3 dumb things of all times!
Earlier this year, the Israeli government actually issued an official apology to the remaining Beatles, which made us all think that something good is about to happen.
After many rumors, around September 1st we got the news.
Macca will be performing in Tel Aviv, Israel.
Oh.
My.
God!
“One sweet dream came true today”
One of my best dreams came true.
I asked my husband a few months back to take me to see Paul live on my birthday this March. It’s been one of my dreams to be in a Paul McCartney concert since I was about 19, to sing with thousands of people “Hey Jude” and just watch a person who actually changed the world with music.
He didn’t just change the world, he also changed lives. He influenced millions to pick up a guitar and start singing- even if they are left handed, to be creative in every aspect of their lives- not just music.
On September 25th, my dream came true.
What a performance. What a performer. What a band. What great humor. Great strong voice!
These songs…. this music- the simple, beautiful, “I wish I wrote that” music.
Forget “Yesterday”. You should have seen the most beautiful version of “Something”, which Paul dedicated to George Harrison. And “Live and Let Die” which included fire works like nothing I ever saw, brilliant video art and kicking live version.
This is all very nice. Does this has anything to do with Chinese Medicine??
Wellllll……
I got Paul on my mind for a number of weeks now and it seems like this is not going to change any time soon. I will write the Monthy Round Up of September with Paul in the back of my head, trying to make this a bit about Chinese Medicine…
Friendship First
One of the best things I got from CMNotes is getting to know new friends from different countries.
One of them is Ross Rosen, who provided a wonderful first guest post on CMNotes, regarding pulse diagnosis.
Let It Be
Can The Practitioner Be The Patient is all about my latest experience as a patient at a spa resort.
Sometimes I think this needs fixing, sometimes I feel that it’s not so bad. Maybe what I really should do is just let it be, as I can’t really change it- even if I tried.
Hey Jude
This child of mine I keep telling you about listenned to The Beatles even before he was born.
Shahar would not react to any songs other than Hey Jude when he was still inside mommy’s belly. Hey Jude would get him kicking and rolling.
That’s my boy!
With A Little Help From My Friends
Peter Deadman gave us a wonderful interview, talking about his friends, his former band and his views of Chinese Medicine.
