Tuvia Scott has been one of my teachers during the 3rd year.
Or was it the 4th year?
At any rate, he was one of the nicest teachers to ever walk our school. He’s also one of the busiest practitioners that I know of here in Israel- with teaching, having his own clinics and traveling to China almost every year, to learn more and practice Caligraphy.
Tuvia has this attraction for acupuncture systems that work on certain parts of the body to affect the whole body- one system is auriculotherapy and another one, his latest, is Abdominal Acupuncture (Fu Zhen).
The first time I heard and learned about Abdominal Acupuncture was 2 years ago, during my Chinese gynecology studies.
It sounded like a perfect system to treat women and everything that has to do with women- problems with the period, infertility, migraines and so on.
I was able to use it on one patient before I stopped working at my practice, and had very good results.

The first ICCM in Israel brought Peter Mole to the promised land.
That was the first time I heard his name, but my mentor told me that if I’m interested in 5 Elements (which I am), I shouldn’t miss Peter’s lecture.
Peter Mole was an instant hit with all of us.
His wonderful humor and his obvious love for Chinese Medicine captured us all, and the fact that there’s someone who is a graduate of 5 Elements that mixes that with TCM was an amazing bonus.
Israel is very TCM, and very Stems and Branches. But 5 Elements sort of got lost- it is a must subject to cover during our 4 basic years of study, but it doesn’t stand alone like the other two I mentioned.
I don’t know why that is really…

This is completely off topic.
Here’s a post that doesn’t talk about Chinese Medicine, but I felt that I really want to share this with you because this blog is more than just Chinese Medicine. It talks about me really, and since I find that I don’t only give you information about Chinese Medicine, I also share personal things with you, this should be no exception. So maybe it’s not that off topic as it feels?…
So I told you about my husband and my boy.
Today I’ll tell you about my brother, who is a musician, he has a successful band here in Israel, they released 2 albums, toured the country and gained a huge fan base, and he also released 3 solo albums.
But he’s more than just a musician. He wrote a book, he does his own art work, he paints, he writes the music, he writes the lyrics, he works with all the great names in Isralie music industry…. and he’s my brother, my friend through thick and thin, and all around funny and good guy.

A practitioner’s website- part 1 is a post where I talk about hiring someone to build and maintain your website for you.
Today I want to talk to you about the other option- building and maintaining your website all by yourself.
So another title for this post would be A Practitioner’s Website- Part 2.
Your spot on the web
As I mentioned at the beginning of part 1, having a website for your clinic is very important.
People hear a name, they Google it and try to find as much information as possible about that name, especially if they would like to get treatments from him.

There are 3 things you need when you open your clinic:
1. You really need to know what you’re doing.
2. A place for your clinic.
3. Patients.
Assuming you have the first 2 things, you need to work hard on getting patients.
I already presented a way to market yourself- Never Market Again by Burton Kent provides you with good ideas and strategy to market yourself and get those patients into your clinic.
One of the things Burton talks about, and I feel is a very important thing to have, is a website.

It’s a bit early in the week for weekly links.
I figured that since I’ve been so behind on my posts, the least I can do is make a special list, hoping that next week will mark my return to routine.
When I finished school, I knew that I mainly want to help women who went through a sexual trauma.
I have no doubt in my mind that Chinese Medicine, especially when you understand the 5 Elements at it’s deepest levels, I know it can help those women understand the trauma better and all it’s affects on their lives.
So I was very happy to read Abdallah Stickley’s post about PTSD, Heart Disease and Acupuncture, which was posted on Abdallah’s blog Even Unto China. As PTSD has a lot to do with sexual trauma, understanding what PTSD can do to a person is highly important during treatment.

It was a bit difficult to write this month.
The family was sick, the nanny is here only 1 day a week, grandma had a little operation on her foot- all of this left me with 99% of my time as a mommy and 1% of my time as an independent small business.
No, these are not excuses, but they are the explanations I have for not writing as much as I would like to.
Baby Healing tells the tale of my boy being ill and all of the things it brought up in me, including my own illness…
