Chinese Medicine Blog- about everything that is Chinese Medicine.
Before the ICCM started, as I knew Julian Scott will be one of the guest speakers, I decided to Google Julian and see what I come up with.
The results were interesting:
Julian Scott- a composer of music for films and such, and even scores music for the Olympic games in Beijing! But the more I look at the website I realize- this is not the Julian Scott I’m looking for.
Julian Scott- an American war hero, a painter and a drummer in the American army. Wait, isn’t Julian from the UK?… Ah. This is not the Julian Scott I’m looking for.
Julian Scott- a musician from Canada, and if things don’t work in the music world he can always start modeling… This is not the Julian Scott I’m looking for.
Julian Scott- this Julian works in real-estate. No, no, the Julian I’m looking for has a degree in physics but nothing about real-estate. Definitely not the Julian Scott I’m looking for.
Julian Scott- the store! And it closed 3 weeks after the grand opening. Nope. We’re looking for a human being and not a store. Not the Julian Scott I’m looking for.
Julian Scott- works with acupuncture, natural medicine, and treats mainly children.
Oh yes, this is the Julian Scott I was looking for.
Julian is a wonderful speaker.
I attended various lectures and seminars he gave in his various visits to Israel and he is probably one of the most clear speakers I had the privilege to hear.
All his lectures and seminars- no matter if they are long or short- have structure:
They all have a clear beginning, a kind of go-with-the-flow middle but still very clear, and a very clear end.
Add to that a sweet smile, a big heart, an even bigger soft spot for children and a wonderful British sense of humor- and you have an enjoyable experience with Julian Scott, and a very educational experience.
Personally, I am not planning to treat children.
But as I am a mother, I thought it’s a good idea to at least listen to Julian’s approach and see what I can take and use with my boy.
Not a waste of time if you ask me. It just made me understand my boy a little better.
Julian wrote a number of books- all recommended if you wish to treat children with CM:
Acupuncture in The Treatment of Children- probably the most known book and the most used text-book around the world.
Natural Medicine for Children- a book that can be used by all parents and not just practitioners.
Herbs in The Treatment of Children- based on 25 years of experience with children, Julian writes this book for practitioners (and as he writes on his own website “the intelligent layperson”).
I love Julian Scott- if you want to declare your love to Julian for everyone to know, writing about it in your blog is one option. The link above presents another option.
Do you have thoughts you would like to share about Julian Scott’s lectures?
